Fabia* came to A Woman’s Choice seeking an abortion. She had three healthy children but recently lost a 2 and a half year-old child and a 4-month old baby to a rare, genetic disease. Fabia said she couldn’t go through that trauma again.

During her pregnancy options coaching session, her advocate went over the differences between the abortion pill and the surgical abortion, as well as the emotional side effects. Fabia shared she didn’t like abortion and never thought she would have one.

Through tears, Fabia and her advocate discussed grief, loss, and the difference between the Lord giving and taking life versus Fabia taking her own child’s life. Fabia stated she was grateful for all the time she had with both children she lost. Together, they prayed for God’s peace and healing.

During the ultrasound, the nurse showed Fabia her baby’s heartbeat and the fetal measurements. In processing everything, Fabia didn’t think she could have an abortion, but she felt uncertain about bringing another child into the world who could have that horrible disease.

The nurse referred to Psalm 139, that God already knows and loves this baby—that He already has a plan for the life growing inside her. This seed of life was planted by God long ago. She encouraged Fabia to pray to the Lord to give her courage in the face of possible challenges. The nurse prayed with her and gave her a hug. A weight lifted. A few days later, we learned Fabia decided to continue with the pregnancy, no matter what. She stated she was calm after releasing the health of her child to the Lord.

In a subsequent follow-up call, we learned Fabia’s testing showed a HEALTHY baby! While we don’t know in advance the Lord’s plans, we are grateful to see this beautiful story unfold. We are grateful for you, our faithful supporter, who walks alongside us to plant seeds of truth and love to reap a harvest of life! Perhaps, we will get to see Fabia’s precious baby in a pumpkin patch photo one day. To God be the glory!
