We all heard the common phrases last month such as “Cheers to new beginnings!” or “New year, new me.” These phrases are not bad…but hearing them year after year, can cause them to lose their impact. So how can we proclaim and celebrate the blessings and opportunities that the New Year holds without empty words, promises, or expectations? We go to the Word of Truth—which never loses its impact.

God is about new beginnings. In fact, that’s His specialty. In the very beginning, He created a new world. Through creation, He established times and seasons—new days, new months, and new years. In the course of time and history, He made new generations and new nations. God is all about making things and people new. This truth is most evident when He sent His Son to save people from their sins and make them new. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are told, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

With this in mind, as we share those common phrases or resolutions, let us also resolve to have our hope found not just in turning a calendar page, but in the One who created time and makes all things new. At A Woman’s Choice, this is where our hearts are—looking to Christ and trusting Him with the new year ahead. Our prayer is, “May Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done, in our ministry in 2023.” We have great expectations, as He has already begun many new adventures for us in the coming year! One of our most exciting beginnings this year is the launch of our Mobile Ministry! We can’t wait to see where this journey will lead. We look forward to sharing stories with you about the lives and souls saved onboard Pearl! Our God is faithful, and we know He will continue to do great and mighty things in and through our ministry and all of us who are a part, and that includes you!

So as we continue on through this New Year—2023!—let us hold on to truths found in the Word of Truth and encourage one another with them. When our hearts are fixed on Him, and our hope is found in Him, then we can truly live out the “Happy New Year” we wished one another last month and embrace our fresh new start. We pray this for each one of you!
