On the outside of every newsletter we send, you can find the mission and vision statements for A Woman’s Choice. I will repeat them both here:
Mission Statement: “We help women and men choose life for the unborn through Christ-centered medical services, education, and support.”
Vision Statement: “Ending Abortion by advancing a culture of life and freedom in Christ.”
Both statements are foundational to our ministry. They define why A Woman’s Choice exists and what we do. They guide the heart and direction of our ministry. Any time we consider new programs or services, we come back to our mission statement to make sure that we remain focused on what God has called us to do. Our vision statement defines what we long to see through the work we do–new life and freedom in Christ for every woman and man we serve. This is why, in all we do, we communicate the message of life and we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
When a woman and man are facing an unplanned pregnancy, often the core of their turmoil is a lack of hope. The pregnancy has turned everything upside down so that it becomes impossible to imagine not just how things will work out, but that things can work out. Furthermore, in most cases, the pregnancy is just one more insurmountable obstacle in an already difficult life that is without hope. But when they come to A Woman’s Choice, we meet them where they are at and help them see past their circumstances to discover that there is hope–hope for life and hope in Christ. Our greatest joy is when we get the blessing of seeing that hope come alive, leading them to choose life for the baby they are carrying and to choose Christ.
Isn’t that the greatest need for us all? None of us are any different from the women and men we serve at A Woman’s Choice. Once we too were without hope, lost in our sinful circumstances. Until one day the truth of Christ was revealed to our hearts, drawing us to Him. And what did we receive when we responded to the glorious light in Christ? We received new life, we received freedom, and we received hope. Praise be to God!
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” How can we not share this good news with the women and men God brings to A Woman’s Choice? Their lives can be made new, and their children can have life. This is why we exist. This is our mission and our vision. Thank you for being partners with us to see that take place. God bless you!
